Richard Swift is an accomplished Strategy consultant that has been in business planning over 40 years.  His ability to get his clients through uncommon problems no one thought possible to overcome, in even more unusual ways, has become a signature trait of his career.

 

His early career started in industrial lending for Mercantile Credit, though he quickly progressed to corporate rescue operations. He most notably assisted in the successful rescue of Aston Martin in the early 80’s, no doubt encouraged by his passion for classic cars.

 

He went on to become a successful entrepreneur with Safety First Ltd, one of the first manufacturers of child car safety seats in the UK. The company then progressed to take on other safety related projects. Safety First developed a means to prevent Legionella infections in critical buildings in addition to a fail-safe means to destroy highly toxic wastes, including nerve agents.

 

Leading from this, he was requested to consult on health related matters for the European Commission, which led him to his specialisation in the business of innovative and pioneering healthcare. This has been his focus for the last 20 years.

 

His experience in the field ranges from managing healthcare joint ventures with Accenture, to getting new treatments to market, to restructuring of one of the biggest suppliers of longevity and regenerative treatments in Europe. Whether it’s treatments for peak performance, the possibilities of different global jurisdictions or benefits of endemic South African plants, he’s made it his business to know every facet of his industry.
